MSNBC: Atty. Ross Goodman Talks about LV Shooting

|

Las Vegas Criminal Defense Attorney Ross Goodman said that it is clear to him that Stephen Paddock intended and planned the Las Vegas Strip shooting last October 1.

In an interview with Brian Williams on the American news cable and television network MSNBC, Goodman explained that based on facts, Paddock drove to the city with guns and strategically checked in a hotel room right across the event.

However, it is still unclear what caused Paddock to commit the act, including the questions on how Paddock was able to access the firearms he brought with him and how he was able to get them past the hotel security.

“I wish we could piece together the surveillance video that the hotel has,” Goodman said, expressing his hope that the law enforcement may be able to find the answers to the remaining questions through the ongoing investigation and through talking to Paddock’s romantic partner.

Goodman also explained that the killings from the shooting could be considered as first degree murder as Paddock drove from Mesquite to Las Vegas with the sole purpose of committing the act.

On the last night of Route 91 Harvest Festival, Paddock opened fire on a crowd of 22,000 people from his hotel suite on the 32nd of Mandalay Bay, killing 58 and injuring over 500 people.

According to the online news website Las Vegas Review-Journal, the event “would register as the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history.”

As some of his friends attended the said Harvest Festival on the night of the shooting, the criminaldefense attorney also expressed his condolences to the loved ones of the casualties and wished for the immediate recovery ofthe surviving victims.
